Potassium Hydroxide is a white crystalline flake material that is a basic ingredient in a wide range of chemical products and processes.
It is used as a pH altering agent and for cleaning solutions as well as being the raw material to make Potassium Carbonate and Potassium Bicarbonate which can then be used in Food applications. It is used in the production of synthetic detergents and soaps, alkaline batteries, agrochemicals, catalysts and in the synthesis of some resin and rubber polymers. Potassium hydroxide is also used in petroleum and natural gas refining for removal of organic acids and sulfur compounds and in the production of Biodiesel from animal or plant fats and oils. It read-ily absorbs water and can be used as a drying agent.
